Silicon Valley’s Churchill Club Announces 2016 Honorees


SAN JOSE –Churchill Club, Silicon Valley’s premier independent forum for innovation and economic growth, has announced the guests of honor for its sixth annual Churchills. Recipients of the annual Churchills are selected for excellence in leadership, innovation, collaboration and social good, and will share their insights at an event on Sept. 22 in Santa Clara, CA.

The 2016 Honorees Are…

  • Legendary Leader: John Chambers, Cisco Systems
    For inspirational leadership and contributions to others’ innovation and success
    Spirit of the award: “Couldn’t have done it without you.”
    In conversation with Geoffrey Moore.
  • Game Changer: Netflix
    For indispensable technology and business innovation
    Spirit of the award: “You changed how things are done or viewed and there’s no going back.”
    Appearing on behalf of Netflix will be Chief Product Officer Neil Hunt, in conversation with Paul Holland, General Partner at Foundation Capital.
  • Magical Team: Amazon Echo Team
    For collaborative breakthroughs resulting in an irresistible product
    Spirit of the award: “You guys nailed it.”
    Appearing on behalf of the Amazon Echo Team will be Mike George and Toni Reid, in conversation with Tim O’Reilly, Founder & CEO at O’Reilly Media.
  • Global Benefactor: Reid Hoffman, LinkedIn & Greylock Partners
    For irrepressible vision and positive impact on society
    Spirit of the award: “Thanks for thinking big.”
    In conversation with Julie Hanna, Executive Chair of the Board,; Presidential Ambassador for Global Entrepreneurship.
  • Most Valuable Organization: The All-In-One: Golden State Warriors
    For the rare organization that embodies all four areas of Churchills excellence.
    Spirit of the award: “You showed us a better way of leading, collaborating, giving and winning: the true meaning of strength in numbers.”
    Appearing on behalf of the Golden State Warriors will be majority owner Joe Lacob, in conversation with Bob Fitzgerald, Sports Broadcaster at CSN Bay Area.

Geoffrey Moore, renowned Silicon Valley advisor and author, will preside as master of ceremonies at the evening event, as honorees share their inspiring perspectives and stories.
