SAN JOSE — The Rotary Club of San Jose, Silicon Valley’s most prominent humanitarian service club, will bring back the public fireworks display to downtown San Jose for the Independence Day holiday. The event returns to the skies above Discovery Meadow near the Children’s Discovery Museum and Center for the Performing Arts on July 4, 2016.
In addition to a world-class fireworks display, which begins at 9:30 pm, the Rotary Club has partnered with two San Jose arts groups, Broadway San Jose and Symphony Silicon Valley, to enhance the community experience.
Symphony Silicon Valley, under the baton of conductor Peter Jaffe, will perform a Summer Pops program. The performance begins at 5:30 pm on July 4th and will have a patriotic theme. Free of charge and open to the general public. The performance will be simulcast.
Broadway San Jose will host a VIP, family friendly buffet dinner. The dinner will be served in front of the the Center for Performing Arts, giving attendees a front row seat to a spectacular fireworks display. Tickets are $65 adults and $35 children. “We are excited to partner with the Rotary Club of San Jose this year. We have a wonderful program planned for this celebration,” says Symphony Silicon Valley President Andrew Bales. “Our musicians will present four orchestra segments with different themes including Broadway overtures, and some fan favorites from our past summer pops series.”

Fireworks begin at approximately 9:30 pm and the free Symphony Summer Pops music begins at 5:30 pm. The Rotary Club of San Jose encourages families to take public transit to the event.
