Jacksonville, Florida, The Assistant Director of Athletics Marketing, under the direction of the Assistant Athletics Director of External Operations or above, plays an integral role in the design, development, implementation and interpretation of departmental processes and/or programs. Recommends policies and procedures to ensure effective coordination of departmental programs.
The primary responsibility of this position is to implement marketing initiatives for the University of North Florida Athletic Department that generates exposure for all 19 Division I athletic programs and the 300 student-athletes. The position will promote a positive image of the Athletic Department; create and execute game day promotions; and prepare and follow through with game day scripts for assigned sports. Responsible for promoting all 19 Division I athletic programs and the 300 student-athletes as well as developing marketing and promotional strategies for athletic and campus-sponsored events. The position is responsible for increasing revenue streams through ticket sales and sponsorships. Solicit new sponsorships; manage relationships with current sponsors; and execute contractual agreements. Responsible for a game atmosphere that creates a positive fan experience. Responsible for the use of social media, graphic creation, and new media initiatives to promote the Athletics Department, its programs and events, and its student-athletes. Manage the cheerleaders, band, mascot, graduate assistants, and student assistants/interns. The position will accept additional duties and special projects as assigned by the Athletic Director and/or his designee. A Master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university in a directly related area of specialization and two years of experience directly related to the job functions; or a Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university in a directly related area of specialization and four years of experience directly related to the job functions.
 
College Athletics experience is preferred. Graphic design experience is preferred. Ability to work as a member of a team with diverse personalities and backgrounds. The successful candidate will also demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong computer background with a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Adobe software; ability to work with coaches, athletes, students and university administration to complete a wide variety of tasks; ability and willingness to work long hours and weekends when the job requires; must demonstrate a working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations as it pertains to athletic department personnel.
