Laukti launches the KickCOVID.us digital platform to help spread the word, not the virus
SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--KickCOVID.us is a new, crowd-sourced digital platform to help return homes, neighborhoods, cities and states back to normal and limit the spread of the COVID-19 virus. The free online resource, powered by Laukti and developed by Infostretch, allows users to rate places throughout the USA for their COVID-19 safety measures. Users can search for and provide safety data on venues that range from local businesses – such as coffee shops, cinemas and stores – to tourist spots, outside spaces like parks, and other places of interest. KickCOVID.us provides a platform for users to search, view and update COVID-19 safety information in real time, and so make decisions where to travel, eat, and shop. By “spreading the word, not the virus” KickCOVID.us is helping to keep people connected, businesses open, and everyone safe.
Surendra Goel, Founder of Laukti commented, “Laukti, which means 'to hope' or 'to anticipate' in Lithuanian, was designed with simplicity in mind, where users can search KickCOVID.us for specific locations or allow the app to suggest nearby venues based on your location. Venues will appear displaying their safety information, as provided by other users. If no data exists, users can be the first to assess the safety measures in place, for example, use of masks, social distancing, wait times, how crowded it is, and whether temperature checks are taking place. We leveraged our long-term partnership with Infostretch to develop the Laukti mobile website.”
KickCOVID.us is powered by Laukti, a team of entrepreneurs and executives who came together to brainstorm how to harness their combined experience to help in the fight against COVID-19. With this goal in mind, the Laukti team created KickCOVID.us to help protect family, friends and community. KickCOVID.us is non-profit and volunteer-sponsored. Other team members and volunteers include technical developers, marketers, and other specialized professionals who live in Northern Virginia and wanted to KickCOVID onto the ash heap of history. You can play your part in protecting others by joining the campaign. Simply visit KickCOVID.us to share and provide local intelligence on the places you visit.
Ranjit Kohli, Chief Marketing Officer, Laukti commented, “The Laukti team conceived the KickCOVID.us campaign because there was no other comparable resource that we could find that helped answer in real-time the question that we’ve all asked countless times during the pandemic: is it ok to go there right now? Think of this tool as the friend, neighbor or colleague who can reliably advise you on the precautions being taken at a given location.”
Rutesh Shah, CEO and founder, Infostretch commented, “We jumped at the chance to help Laukti provide a tool that gives consumers the information they need to stay safe, and we are happy to be involved with the KickCovid.us campaign to help people try and get back to some semblance of normalcy.”
