Apple to Open SF Office

Apple is planning to open an office in San Francisco’s South of Market neighborhood with room for up to 500 employees according to Reuters.

The decision to open an office in SF is a concession to workers who want to live and work in the city rather than commute 40 miles south to Cupertino. It will also help the company compete for tech workers in an intense market for employers looking for the best engineers and developers.

Apple is in the process of building a massive new spaceship-like headquarters that will open by 2017 that could house 12,000 employees.

Apple has 110,000 employees worldwide including its retail stores.
