Top 25 Most Valuable Venture Backed Companies

Research firm Pitchbook has released an updated list of the Top 25 Most Valuable Venture Capital backed companies. There are actually 28 companies on the list since five are tied for the 23rd spot.

Uber continues to hold the lead as the most valuable company with a valuation of $72.0 billion. New York-based WeWork is second at $47 billion. WeWork recently changed its name to We Company.

E-cigarette maker Juul takes the No. 3 spot worth $38 billion after tobacco giant Altria made a $13 billion investment in the company last December.

Several companies on the list are expected to go public this year including Uber, Airbnb, Palantir, Lyft, Pinterest and Slack.
