<p>The late Norman Mineta will have a statue honoring the Silicon Valley legend Thursday at San José Mineta International Airport (SJC), the airport named after him in 2001.</p>
<p>The six-foot-tall bronze sculpture, created by local sculptor Steve Davis, will stand on a granite pedestal in the baggage claim area of Terminal B, which sees 70% of passenger traffic. A public ceremony to mark the occasion will take place at 10 a.m.</p>
<p>Mineta served as Mayor of San Jose from 1971 to 1975. He was also a U.S. Congressman for 20 years.</p>
<p>Mineta served under President Clinton as Secretary of Commerce and also Secretary of Transportation under President George W. Bush.</p>
