Police Investigtating Jewelry Theft From Elderly Man

Palo Alto police are investigating a jewelry theft case on a residential street that occurred on Monday, October 13, 2025.  Two suspects conspired to remove jewelry from an elderly female victim.  The victim was not physically injured, and the suspects are unknown and at large.

On Thursday, October 23, 2025, at about 2:05 p.m., the victim came to the Palo Alto Police station to report a jewelry theft that occurred on the 3500 block of Bryant Street in the morning of October 13, 2025.

The investigation revealed that the victim, a woman in her eighties, was walking in the 3500 block of Bryant Street when a red-colored vehicle, driven by a man with a woman passenger, drove past her and parked along the curb of Bryant Street.  The woman approached the victim and placed several items of costume jewelry in the victim’s hand.  The woman then tried to place a necklace around the victim’s neck.  The victim pushed the woman away, and the woman returned to the vehicle.  The suspects then drove off northbound on Bryant Street.  The victim did not report seeing any weapon.  The victim noticed that her necklace was missing after the suspects drove off.  The victim notified police of the incident on October 23, 2025.

The victim described the suspects as being Middle Eastern and in their thirties.  The female suspect spoke a language that the victim did not recognize.

Detectives are investigating this case to see if there is any connection to previous similar incidents or with any other similar crimes in other cities.
