Second Virtual Event in STREAMup Series to Tackle Content Challenges: Acquisition, Delivery, and Visibility
FREMONT, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Streaming Video Alliance (the Alliance), a global technical association developing solutions to address critical technical challenges in delivering a high-quality video experience at scale, is hosting the first East Coast STREAMup, on Tuesday, September 29, 2020 from 4:30pm to 6:00pm EDT. Under the theme of Avengers: Endgame, this virtual meetup is available to both members and non-members. The event is specifically scheduled to accommodate the streaming community on the East Coast, but open to all who would like to join.
“We had a strong turnout for the inaugural STREAMup last month where we focused on best practices in device fragmentation for streaming video,” said Jason Thibeault, Executive Director at the Alliance. “This time we’re tackling content challenges, which is a broad topic, but at the same time, content is at the heart of any streaming platform and can present a myriad of challenges, particularly at scale. Our presenters have some great insights to share based on their real world experiences.”

There will be two technical presentations about challenges with handling, monitoring, or moving content within a major OTT platform, followed by trivia and a social hour.
The East Coast STREAMup presentations will feature:
- Eric Black, SVP U.S. Operations & Video at Peacock, will explore the technical challenges of content acquisition into an OTT platform.
- Eric Klein, Director, Content Distribution at Disney Streaming Services, will examine content distribution in a COVID-19 world: how the pandemic has changed in-home consumption of OTT content and ways that solutions such as Open Caching can have an impact on the end user experience.
