Recipients of Pinnacle of Excellence, Guardian of Excellence, NDNQI, and Success Story Awards Announced
BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Press Ganey today announced the recipients of its annual performance achievement awards, honoring top-performing health care organizations whose commitment to delivering reliably safe, compassionate, high-quality care and creating a culture of excellence to engage and support caregivers has measurably advanced health care, even as the industry faced the immense challenges and demands presented by the COVID-19 pandemic. The company’s 2020 Pinnacle of Excellence®, Guardian of Excellence®, NDNQI®, and Success Story® awards recognize more than 400 organizations that met stringent requirements for superior performance to improve the delivery of patient-centered care and foster exceptional workforce engagement.
“The caregivers and staffs of these award-winning organizations touch the lives of countless millions across the country every day, and we are honored to recognize their extraordinary work,” said Patrick T. Ryan, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Press Ganey. “To achieve these levels of success, leaders embraced the humanity of health care. They listened to the voices of caregivers and consumers and leveraged rich data and insights to inform targeted improvement strategies and drive the level of transformation needed to consistently deliver safe, high-quality care in the complex health care environment. Their ongoing focus on clinical and service excellence is particularly crucial as the pandemic continues to challenge their day-to-day operations. The accomplishments of our clients are truly remarkable and inspiring, and we are proud to partner with them in this noble work.”
The Pinnacle of Excellence Award recognizes top-performing health care organizations for achieving and maintaining consistently high levels of excellence over three years in patient experience, employee engagement, physician engagement, or clinical quality performance. This award is given to only four client partners in each category. These organizations represent the leading edge of patient-centered care.
The Guardian of Excellence Award honors organizations that have achieved the 95th percentile for each reporting period of the award year for patient experience, engagement, or clinical quality performance. More than 350 organizations received this prestigious recognition.
The NDNQI Award for Outstanding Nursing Quality is awarded annually to the best-performing hospital in each of seven demographic categories: Academic Medical Center, Teaching Hospital, Community Hospital, Pediatric Hospital, Rehabilitation Hospital, Psychiatric Hospital, and International. The analysis considers 17 nursing-sensitive quality measures, evaluates scores by unit type, develops a standardized score for each unit, and combines scores across the units to produce an overall score.
The Success Story Award recognizes six organizations that have demonstrated innovation and leadership to measurably improve safety, clinical quality, patient experience, or caregiver engagement. Winners are chosen by committee from the hundreds of abstracts received.
