NBCUniversal has announced a new partnership with Apple. Beginning January 1, 2017, NBCUniversal will be the exclusive U.S. seller for advertising inventory on Apple’s News app and will work with Apple to develop new advertising products so marketers and publishers can better take advantage of the platform.
Apple’s News app comes pre-installed on all iOS devices and has over 70 million active monthly users. From news to business, sports, entertainment, lifestyle, food, and travel, the News app features the best content from TV, magazines, newspapers, and digital native brands. Not only does the News app aggregate premium editorial content, it tailors its For You feed based on individual user preferences.
With NBCUniversal’s expertise in creating ad campaigns for companies, this partnership represents an unparalleled opportunity for marketers and increased revenue opportunities for the premium publishers across the News app environment.
Additionally, NBCUniversal is creating a new, dedicated sales group focusing on developing strategic opportunities and new products around the app. James Kreckler, Senior Vice President at NBCUniversal, will oversee the new group. Under James’ leadership the group will work closely with advertisers and publishers to develop unique and engaging campaigns across the News app’s premium content.
