LAS VEGAS — Facebook reported stellar earnings for the fourth quarter of 2015 including net income of $1.56 billion on revenues of $5.8 billion, up 52% from a year ago.
“2015 was a great year for Facebook. Our community continued to grow and our business is thriving,” said Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook founder and CEO. “We continue to invest in better serving our community, building our business, and connecting the world.”
Facebook continues to show strength among mobile users. The company reported daily mobile active users were 934 million on average for December 2015, an increase of 25% year-over-year.
Daily active users on the entire Facebook network were 1.04 billion on average for December 2015, an increase of 17% year-over-year. Monthly active users (MAUs) were 1.59 billion as of December 31, 2015, an increase of 14% year-over-year.
The company said mobile advertising made up for 80% of total revenues for the quarter with $5.63 billion in total advertising.
For all of 2015, Facebook reported revenues of $17.93 billion, up 44% from last year. Total net income for the year was $3.68 billion.
